Computational Linguist

Walter De Brouwer has established several AI and deep tech companies, four of which have undergone public offerings. His latest company ( was acquired by Sharecare where he serves as the Chief Scientific Officer.  WDB holds a PhD in computational semiotics and has been a professor at Stanford University since 2018, where he is the course director of MED-205.  His research interests are in Multimodal Transformers, Large Music Models and Autonomous Agents. He is a General Partner at Claritas Capital (Nashville, since January 2022), a $1bn PE  fund where he runs the Media and Entertainment (Claritas M&E) sector.  He is the author of 53 patents and a member of the Recording Academy (Grammy’s).
